불규칙적인 따개비 모양의 지붕을 가진 따개비 유치원은 아이들의 무궁무진한 호기심과 에너지를 다양한 공간에서 해결하고 쏟아낼 수 있으며 창의력을 샘솓게 합니다.
유치원은 아이들을 위한 공간이면서 그와 동시에 아이들 뿐만 아니라 선생님과 부모님들도 함께하는 공간입니다. 아이들과 선생님, 그리고 학부모 모두가 좋아하는 공간을 만들고자 하였습니다.
자연친화적인 따개비 유치원에서는 안전한 공간들과 다양한 놀이공간에서 많은 체험을 할 수 있습니다. 입구에서부터 펼쳐지는 넓은 잔디 마당과 유기적인 이동동선, 그리고 층고를 활용한 다양한 공간 활용을 통해 가장 많은 시간과 기억을 쌓을 아이들은 이 유치원에서 원없이 뛰어놀고, 자연과 함께하고, 매일 아침마다 유치원을 갈 때 기대와 즐거움을 느끼게 될 것입니다.
Barnacle Kindergarten, with its irregular, barnacle-shaped roof, allows children to channel and release their boundless curiosity and energy through a variety of spaces, naturally inspiring creativity to flourish.
A kindergarten is a space for children, but at the same time it is a place shared by teachers and parents as well. This project aims to create an environment that is loved by children, teachers, and parents alike.
At the nature-friendly Barnacle Kindergarten, children can enjoy a wide range of experiences in safe spaces and diverse play areas. From the entrance, a spacious grassy yard unfolds, connected by organic circulation paths. By utilizing varying ceiling heights, the building offers diverse spatial experiences. Here, children—who will spend the most time and create the most memories—can run and play freely, connect with nature, and feel excitement and joy every morning as they head to kindergarten.
Concept
둘러싸기, 지붕, 단차 세가지 단어를 컨셉으로 유치원 설계를 진행하였습니다. 건물은 잔디 마당을 감싸며 배치되어 아이들이 자연을 자유롭게 접할 수 있도록 하였습니다. 비대칭 케이블 모양의 따개비 지붕을 통해 다락방을 만들어 아이들이 유치원을 더욱 재미있게 느낄 수 있도록 하였고, 3미터의 단차를 활용하여 지하 공간의 지붕을 사용 가능한 공간으로 만들었습니다.
The kindergarten was designed based on three key concepts: Surround, Roof, and Step difference. The building is arranged to surround the grassy courtyard, allowing children to freely engage with nature. An asymmetric, cable-shaped Ttaegabi roof creates attic spaces, making the kindergarten a more playful and enjoyable place for children. In addition, a 3-meter level difference is utilized to transform the roof of the underground space into a usable area.

성균관대학교 아래 좌측에 위치 해 있으며 일월저수지의 왼쪽에 자리하고 있습니다. 사이트의 왼쪽에는 바로 옆에 보도와 도로가 위치해 있으며, 지형은 평지이지만 오른쪽에 위치해 있는 산책로보다는 1m 정도 레벨이 높은 특징이 있습니다.
The site is located at the lower-left side of Sungkyunkwan University and to the left of Ilwol Reservoir. On the left side of the site, a pedestrian walkway and a road are directly adjacent. Although the site itself is flat, it is approximately 1 meter higher in level than the walking trail located on the right side.
